The amount of data available today is taking on enormous proportions.
In this pile of data, some great discoveries can be made. Tableau is a powerful and intuitive tool for data analysis and visualization. Using all kinds of graphs, tables and maps, you can create interactive dashboards to make complex data files understandable for a large audience.
In this course, you will get an introduction to data visualization in Tableau. We'll follow a hands-on approach with lots of practice. This way, you'll get to know the basic features and get introduced to some of the more advanced capabilities Tableau has to offer.
Il n'y a pas de sessions publiques à ce moment. Nous organisons volontiers un cours en entreprise ou une session publique supplémentaire (en cas d'un nombre suffisant de participants). Intéressé? Contactez-nous.
Everyone who's working with data on a daily basis and wants to take their visualization skills to the next level.
This is a "beginners" course, so no technical background is required. Familiarity with the concepts of data stores and "big data" is of course advisable, although the course will cover this as well.
After a brief introduction to the Tableau stack and some data visualization concepts, we dive right into the software. We start from scratch with the structure of the tool and how to operate it.
Once familiar with the look & feel, we start the same way every data scientist starts his journey: connecting to a data source. With the chosen data set, we will go over all the most important Tableau visualizations. By trying to solve small challenges, we will discover all types of bar charts, line charts, graphs etc.
Once we have mastered the individual Charts, we will start combining them in Dashboards. In the Dashboard, all types of filters can be used, each designed for a specific purpose. We will explore the key functionalities of the dashboard by working together on a big case. In Storytelling mode, a presentation can be made using the earlier created dashboards.
To conclude, we'll plot a dataset on a map as a final visualization option of Tableau.
