Proxmox VE Clustering & Shared Storage

This 2-day, live and interactive Proxmox VE training immerses you in building and operating production-ready multi-node clusters using real hardware in hands-on lab environments. You’ll explore clustering, SDN networking, Proxmox Backup Server, Ceph storage, high availability, ZFS replication, automation, and real-world troubleshooting scenarios. Designed for system administrators, DevOps, and infrastructure engineers working with enterprise virtualisation at scale. - ABIS

This Authorized Proxmox Training Partner course extends the Deployment and Management training with the design and operation of multi-node Proxmox VE clusters. Participants learn how to build resilient virtualisation platforms with shared storage, high availability, hyper-converged Ceph and automated workflows. Lab time is spent on a real cluster running on dedicated hardware.

This training program:

  • Understand the architecture, design considerations, and quorum mechanisms of Proxmox VE cluster
  • Deploy and manage clusters, including adding and removing nodes
  • Configure and manage cluster networking and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) at scale
  • Implement and operate Proxmox Backup Server, including retention, encryption, and verification
  • Apply restore strategies and plan for disaster recovery
  • Deploy and manage hyper-converged Ceph storage within Proxmox VE
  • Understand Ceph pools, basic CRUSH map concepts, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Use ZFS replication for two-node and edge scenarios
  • Configure and manage High Availability (HA) groups, including fencing and failover behavior
  • Apply operational best practices for HA workloads
  • Use the Proxmox VE REST API and CLI for automation
  • Apply automation patterns for repeatable cluster operations
  • Troubleshoot cluster issues, including split-brain, storage, networking, and HA scenarios
