Db2 for z/OS data recovery
Covering Db2 for z/OS environments up to and including Db2 11 for z/OS, this course provides attendees with a comprehensive introduction to the recovery of Db2 objects. The course examines all the provided Db2 utilities and service aids, and discusses their involvement in recovery scenarios involving user data and Db2 data such as the catalog and directory.
On successful completion of this course attendees will be able to:
- describe the structure and format of Db2 pagesets
- list all of the major recovery components
- describe the need for Db2 logging to assist in recovery situations
- describe the need for and use of all Db2 utilities
- identify when service aids may be required for use in recovery situations
- describe the additional considerations when recovering catalog and directory tablespaces.
